What I really really want...

There are pros and cons to living so far away from America. I can't really think of any pros off the top of my head... I can however think of a huge con! That being I'm not able to shop at Fred Flare. I've found so many things on this site I want it's not funny but do they ship here? Nope! I've recently got back into photography, I'm not sure if it's because I've been seeing a lot of pretty things around or if it's because my digital camera decided to stop so needless to say I was thrilled to find what the site has to offer in the way of cameras. Even though I can't buy them now at least I know what's out there and who know maybe one day they'll ship to lil ol Australia. Anyway here are a few cameras I found on this awesome website and the effects the make. Let me know what you think...

Aren't they adorable? Argh I want them all so bad... one day, right ;)

  1. Hey Lovely - they are available in lil ol stralia! I have a diana, actionsample, fisheye 2, holga and submarine! Head to lomography.com.au or if they don't have what you're chasing try violentgreen.blogspot.com

If you get a diana, grab a 35mm adapter (or diy if your clever) so you can learn on the cheap. 120mm film is exxy to process when you're not too sure of focal ranges.

I am scanning a whole heap of lomo photos I took in thailand this weekend, maybe check out my blog later next week. :)

(On topic however I agree that fred flare is the epitome of fun online shopping. Maybe we could petition them to ship to oz?)

  2. I have the fisheye camera that's pictured there but the red example pic was taken through the viewfinder and isn't quite how the film comes out! (it has a mega black ring around it)... but it's totally awesome.
You should have a look on eBay for Holga cameras - which you can get 35mm adapters for! They should be pretty affordable. They are all awesome though.

35mm film is becoming almost obsolete? I hope not but I'm getting scared it one day might be.

  6. Sharnee - I totally don't see 35mm becoming obsolete. Panoramic is now which sucks but 35mm won't ever die out completely.

  7. I love Fred Flare! They have the very best stuff! I say have a friend/family member buy it for you in the U.S. & have it shipped to you. Long process but worth it - I say!
